The heart and soul of MagZip was based on love, giving and helping others. We want to continue to spread that message with Giving Campaigns throughout the year. Read more of the story behind the invention and intention of MagZip.
February is a month that is meaningful to us. Scott’s nephew, Jack (that's Jack below), would have celebrated his 9th birthday on February 18th. Not only do we celebrate Jack on February 18th, but we also remember him, and honor him on February 6th, the anniversary of his passing.
Jack passed away from Rhamdomyosarcoma on February 6, 2014 (a rare form of childhood cancer) just 12 days shy of his 3rd birthday. With a love for his mom Rebecca, dad Josh, brother Witt, and baby sister Ellis, Jack enjoyed trucks, puzzles, jumping, and the color red. He was a strong and brave little man who fought hard to beat his battle with cancer.
When Jack and his family received treatment in Boston, they stayed at a wonderful place called Christopher’s Haven. Christopher’s Haven is an organization located in Boston, Massachusetts with a mission to operate a supportive community consisting of seven temporary apartments for families being treated for cancer in nearby Boston hospitals. Christopher’s Haven was a blessing for Jack and his family - making an unbearable situation just a little brighter. Read more about Christopher’s Haven and their wonderful organization that run on donations.
According to the American Cancer Society, about 11,050 children in the United States under the age of 15 will be diagnosed with Cancer in 2020. We plan to donate 10% of the MagZip Hoodie proceeds during the month of February to Christopher’s Haven in memory of Jack and in honor of all those who have been touched by cancer. We hope to help Christopher’s Haven with their mission to help those families fighting cancer.
